V.OEHN is the moniker of German artist Markus Oehlen. His newest release is comprised of two long form electro acoustic pieces. A fractured trip that is playful, expansive, and perplexing from start to finish.

Markus Oehlen (b. 1956, Krefeld, Germany) is a foundational member of the contrarian art movement known as the Neue Wilde (a group of neoexpressionist painters in Düsseldorf reacting against Minimalism in the 80’s). He has works in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Saint Louis Art Museum, Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Kunsthalle Weishaupt, and others. Since 2002 he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany where he lives and works. In addition to his accomplishments as a painter, he is considered one of the pioneers of German punk music (as the original drummer of Dusseldorf Punks Charley‘s Girls and Mittagspause). He is also a former member of The Red Krayola.
